This specialist in fire and light abilities can do massive damage without Breaking foes. Despite this, it has a strong balance between offense, defense, and Break Power, and its ability to use ranger abilities gives it a wide breadth of strategic options.

From the Mobius News announcement page:

Vana'diel Monk has very high HP and high Break power and is an attacker role that Breaks enemy gauges.
As a Monk-type job, it has high Magic power so any abilities that are dependent on Magic power are also their specialty!
It has fire/light elemental Boosts and Improved Criticals, so high damage can be promised with fire/light even without a Break in the gauge.
Their auto-ability includes 3 types of Break, so you can Break gauges with normal attacks too!

There are various tactics that can be combined with Vana'diel Monk such as Furious Salvo, Scourge, Ultimate gauge bonuses from normal attacks, Attack Limit Break, Break gauge, ability damage, and attack damage.
Ranger Lore is also included and there's even an additional action after Break compared to other jobs!

The Ultimate provides Monk's Trance, Brave, Haste, Regen, Charging Attack, and a single-target Chain attack to target.
The last hit will inflict Slow on the enemy for 4 turns which gives you an advantage!
